Know if what you're doing is working.
Caliper helps you track body composition and body measurements over time, so you can better understand whether you're moving toward your goal.
- Body-composition tracking from your iPhone.
- Two photos, about 10 seconds.
- No special hardware required.
Your weight is one number. Your progress isn't.
The scale shows you how your weight changed. It can't show you how your body composition changed with it.
WEIGHT down
What did you lose?
WEIGHT unchanged
What changed even if the scale barely moved?
WEIGHT up
What did you gain?
Weight shows the outcome.Body composition helps show what changed.
It starts with two photos.
Take guided front and side scans with your phone. Caliper uses them to estimate body composition and body measurements you can follow over time.

What Caliper estimates
- BODY FAT
- FAT MASS
- LEAN MASS
- WEIGHT
Body measurements it takes
- WAIST
- HIPS
- OTHER BODY MEASUREMENTS
Progress can show up in more than one measurement.
| Measurement | Start | End | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weight | 180.0 lb | 179.2 lb | −0.8 lb (−0.4%) |
| Fat Mass | 41.6 lb | 36.8 lb | −4.8 lb (−11.5%) |
| Lean Mass | 138.4 lb | 142.4 lb | +4.0 lb (+2.9%) |
| Waist | 34.0 in | 32.6 in | −1.4 in (−4.1%) |
Weight changed very little. The other measurements did not.
Built for what you're working toward.
- LOSE FATKnow what you're losing.See how Fat Mass, Lean Mass, and weight change as you work toward your goal.
- RECOMPSee progress the scale can miss.Follow changes in body composition even when your weight barely moves.
- BUILD MUSCLEKnow what you're gaining.Follow Lean Mass, Fat Mass, and weight as change develops over time.
The numbers matter. What they mean matters more.
Your goal changes how a measurement should be understood. Looking at recent measurements together can give you more context for what may deserve attention next.
STAY THE COURSE
Sometimes the measurements support continuing without changing the plan.
GIVE IT MORE TIME
Sometimes the next useful data point is the next measurement.
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Sometimes the relationship between measurements deserves more attention.
Not every measurement needs a change in plan.
Knowing what to do next isn't settled once. It's a question each measurement reopens, and Caliper is built around it.
- MeasureSee what's changing.
- UnderstandPut the change in context of your goal.
- DecideChoose what deserves your attention.
- RepeatCheck in again and follow the trend.
Built to measure. Designed to earn your trust.
Body-composition estimates should come with evidence—not just a number.
Purpose-Built
A model built specifically for body-composition measurement.
Evaluated
Performance should be measured against relevant reference data and reported transparently.
Designed for Change
Caliper is built around repeated measurements, not just one-time estimates.
Transparent
Clear about what Caliper estimates, what the measurements mean, and where the limits are.
Caliper uses computer vision to analyse guided front and side scan images and estimate your body measurements. Those measurements, together with information you provide, are used by Caliper's body-composition models to estimate fat and lean mass.
In our validation against dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), estimated fat and lean mass differed from the reference result by about 4.4 lb (2.0 kg) on average.
This is an average across the validation group, not a guaranteed range. Individual estimates may differ by more or less.
